The Bane of My Existence

Linnea Granryd's Rip Art

She manipulates ripped paper like paint. It's amazing!

Rampazzo Colagens

Marcelo sent me a link to his work. He seems to be primarily a sculptor. Even this collage of his is very sculptural.

splintergirl

Lilac lives in Israel. She saw my collages and sent me a link to hers. They are really awesome!

MTV Art Battles

Based on the original Art Battles found here, MTV is jumping on the bandwagon with it's own televised version. The winner of the first competition will be announced on June 11.
This isn't a new concept. I can remember going to a comic con in Pensacola some years ago and participating in a sketch contest. We had a set amount of time to do a sketch and then a winner was named. I don't remember if I won or not. Probably not.
I think this is a good thing as long as the competition is kept healthy. Heck, it would make me improve my chops if I knew I was going head to head with some other artists. It's a fun idea.

Ali Spagnoli's Walkbot

Ali sent my free painting this week. Presenting, the Walkbot. He's cute, eh? I'm going to trade a collage for him. I gotta pick one out and send it this week.
Thanks Ali.

Aachi and Ssipak

I found this video clip over at the Drawn website. It's weird but cool. It's from a Korean anime film called Aachi and Ssipak. The movie website is here. Caution: Extreme violence.

Ali Spagnola

Ali Spagnola is giving away paintings for free. All you have to do is go to her website, email her and ask for one. I did. She is also asking for donations so think about giving. I offered to trade her one of my art pieces for one of hers. I would feel guilty getting something for nothing. I don't know when or if she'll get around to me but I'll let you know when she does.

Birthday Art

I just had the idea to do a piece of art incorporating well-known people who share my birthday. (Alice Cooper being one of them, Garth Brooks another...what a huge spectrum that covers)
